Need a Postpartum Doula & have MassHealth?🤎
Hi, I’m Ziakeya (Zy-ah-key-ah) Sherelle.
The Body Connection: Why a Board Certified Sexologist?
Welcome. If you have found your way here, chances are you are carrying a heavy load. As Black women we are so often expected to be the strong ones, the caregivers, and the anchors for everyone else.
You might wonder how being a Board Certified Sexologist connects to postpartum care and platonic touch. The answer is simple: my foundational expertise is in how bodies feel, heal, and find safety.
My clinical background means I deeply understand bodily autonomy, the vital importance of consent, and how we physically carry our stress. Whether you are navigating the profound bodily changes of the fourth trimester or simply need a space to exist without anyone demanding anything from you, I use this knowledge to create a completely safe, trauma-informed environment. It’s not just about a helping hand; it is a highly intentional, expert-guided space for your body to finally exhale.
How I Got Here
Like so many of us, I had to learn the profound value of unconditional touch through its absence.
I grew up in an environment where comforting, grounding hugs were scarce. Without realizing it, that early touch deprivation set a baseline for what I accepted later in life. As I navigated adulthood, I often found myself in relationships where touch always seemed to come with a condition, a price, or an expectation. When you are starved for basic human connection, that longing can easily be taken advantage of. For a long time, I didn't know what it felt like to be held simply for the sake of being anchored.
But as I moved through my own healing, I realized something vital: this deprivation wasn't a personal failure, and it wasn't just my story—it is a shared wound.
As Black women, we are so often touched only when something is wanted from us. Our bodies are constantly expected to produce, nurture, or perform for others. Experiencing physical touch that expects absolutely nothing in return is rare, but it is deeply necessary for our survival.
That realization changed the entire trajectory of my life. I knew I had to create the exact sanctuary I once needed. I built Noir Touch and Rest so that no woman has to earn her right to be comforted. You do not have to be strong here. You just get to be held.
Noir Touch & Rest isn't a clinical space; it is a sanctuary born from love and shared lived experience. I am right here beside you as we unlearn our exhaustion and slowly learn to come home to our bodies.
A massive part of this work involves dismantling the stigma around the word "pleasure"—a birthright found in rest, joy, and safety.
Through my advocacy, I realized something vital: before we can heal or fight systemic battles, we must first be allowed to rest. While my background is deeply rooted in sexology and reproductive justice, I intentionally center this practice entirely on touch and rest. Because knowing our bodies is vital, but having a safe place to simply exist within them is revolutionary.
Many of us do not know how to experience physical touch without a sexual attachment. I am creating safe spaces where we can relearn the profound power of being held and supported without expectations.
Whether I am supporting your postpartum transition, anchoring your nervous system in a 1-on-1 touch session, or facilitating a pleasure circle, my commitment remains the same:
Here, you do not have to perform. Here, your body belongs entirely to you.
I want to be so clear: I am not standing at some magical finish line of healing. My own journey is completely imperfect, and I am right here in the trenches learning and unlearning with you every single day.
We deserve a space to just stop, breathe, and figure out what our bodies actually need to truly live and feel pleasure.
The beautiful truth is, the tools we are using aren't even new. We are simply reclaiming the wisdom, rest, and deep community care that were always ours before the world told us we had to earn them. So whether you’re here to explore what pleasure means to you, or you just need a gentle, soft place to land at one of our upcoming gatherings, you are home. We've got this, together.
Before we co-create a sanctuary, share space, or lock arms in collective care, I invite you to know my mind. This archive is my living blueprint—a dedicated space for unlearning out loud, rooted in my background as a sexologist and my lived journey through the depths of physical reclamation. It is a collection of essays, cultural critiques, and sacred reminders centered on reproductive health autonomy, somatic rest, and the unapologetic reclamation of Black pleasure.
This isn't an academic lecture hall or a space for rigid, clinical perfection. It is a soft, intellectual sanctuary and a testament to the validity of our bodily wisdom. Here, I document the philosophies that guide my frameworks, analyze the systems that exhaust our vessels, and honor the sacred defiance it takes to stand firm in our right to heal, rest, and feel good.
